Less than two years ago Dallas Freightliner opened the most modern and largest commercial truck facility in North America.
The location houses more than $3,000,000 in parts inventory and employs approximately 200 people. Everything from bolts to bumpers are stored in the building.
ATC Freightliner Group turned to an ISDA Network partners experts to design a buildable mix of efficient storage for its parts department. The multi-level parts department was strategically designed to improve efficiencies in product picking, maximize available space and be flexible for future needs.
High density storage drawers are placed along several walls, closest to the counter, for small parts and hardware. Strong high density clip-type shelves (providing flexibility and durability) are installed for quick access to medium-sized parts.
Closed end panels on the high density shelving units provide a clean finish.
The second floor of the parts department, which holds over a dozen rows of rivet shelving, creates a pass-through feature for long parts storage. The easily adjustable shelves adapt when inventory changes.
Paul Ground, Warehouse Supervisor at ATC Freightliner was pleased with the entire project.
Everything from the initial concepts, drawings, customer service and installation went smoothly. The project was completed on time and is running fast and efficient.
